Riccardo Maria Monti has entered the capital of Renovarum Capital, the new M&A firm headquartered in Naples that aims to build an advisory practice of excellence in southern Italy, helping companies attract growth capital and execute structured finance transactions. Monti has simultaneously joined the company's board of directors, where he will serve as chief strategy officer.
An entrepreneur and manager, Monti is currently executive chairman of Triboo Group. Among other roles, he has served as president of ICE, the Italian Trade Agency, and of Grandi Stazioni, and was for many years a director and partner of Value Partners, helping transform it from a boutique of 30 professionals into an Italian consulting multinational with 3,000 professionals and 15 offices worldwide, through to its sale to Japan's NTT Data.
What Renovarum Capital is
Renovarum Capital is an advisory boutique founded by two young professionals from Campania, Pietro Reccia (32) and Stefano Mercaldo (29), who after university, master's studies and corporate finance careers at multinationals including Accenture, PwC and Deloitte chose to return to Campania with the ambition of creating an advisory platform in southern Italy able to compete nationally and internationally.
Renovarum Capital's shareholders also include Lumina Holding, which holds a 40% stake. The holding controls a diversified group with interests in digital advertising, gaming, artificial intelligence, international real estate and food. On the technology side, the group's platforms have managed over EUR 800 million in advertising spend, while in real estate the group develops premium projects across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Renovarum today supports and directly manages all of the holding's investment transactions, acting as its reference strategic advisor.
In little more than a year Renovarum has recorded significant growth in both revenue and completed transactions. Among them is the sale of veterinary clinic network IVET to Vimian Group, a multinational listed on Nasdaq Stockholm with around EUR 400 million in revenue, a deal reportedly valued at more than EUR 40 million and one of the most relevant in its segment at the European level. Renovarum advised the client through every phase: initial structuring, dialogue with international investors, the full due diligence process, negotiation and final agreement.
